The Global AIDS Alliance (GAA), founded in 2001, is a non-profit organisation based in Washington DC that works to galvanize the political will and financial resources needed to address the global AIDS crisis and reduce its impacts on poor countries that have been hardest hit by the pandemic. Specifically, GAA combines media outreach and public education with targeted coalition-building and grassroots mobilization to raise awareness and inspire activism in support of advocacy to persuade US policymakers and other decision-makers to implement a comprehensive response to the global AIDS crisis.

GAA works in partnership with diverse organisations, including domestic and global HIV/AIDS advocates, humanitarian and relief agencies, human rights groups, and major faith-based organisations. In particular, we have forged two coalition-based campaigns to strengthen our grassroots organizing work and lend weight to our advocacy recommendations:
