The Gaia Foundation, founded the early 1980s is an environmental charity that works to protect and enhance biological and cultural diversity, through awareness raising, policy-work, coalition building, and support for community-based projects in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Through a network of associates, advisors and partner organisations, Gaia works at all levels; from the grassroots with peasant farmers and indigenous communities, through to the regional and international level with policy-makers and governments.
